What People Are Saying about Who Is This God? A Handbook for Life with Him

A Transformative Journey into Knowing God

I recently had the privilege of immersing myself in Paul Bryan's remarkable book, "Who Is This God? A Handbook for Life with Him," and I am compelled to share my enthusiastic endorsement.

This five-star gem is more than a book; it's a spiritual guide that beckons readers into a deeper understanding of the God of the Bible. In a world plagued by pervasive unbelief, Bryan confronts this spiritual epidemic head-on, offering a beacon of light and wisdom for those seeking a profound connection with the divine.

The uniqueness of this book lies in its structure. With forty-three engaging chapters, each adorned with narratives, Bible verses, and thought-provoking questions, Bryan has created a teaching resource that transcends the ordinary. True stories, totaling seventy, pepper the pages, illustrating the reality of God's active presence in our lives. From angelic choirs to miraculous interventions, these tales are both captivating and affirming.

Bryan's passion for introducing readers to the God of the Bible is evident throughout. The meticulous inclusion of 660 scripture quotations, 184 "What Do You Think?" questions and 99 "Personal Application" questions enrich the reader's experience. This isn't just a book; it's a comprehensive guide that invites introspection, engagement, and transformation.

The author's dedication to authenticity is striking. The many true stories, including supernatural experiences, are shared without embellishments. Bryan's sincerity shines through, making the reader feel a genuine connection to the divine occurrences described.

What sets this book apart is its breadth. Covering over three hundred biblical topics and subtopics, it is a compendium of spiritual wisdom, making it an ideal companion for both seasoned believers and those new to the Christian faith.

Paul Bryan, with a lifetime commitment to serving God, brings a wealth of experience to his writing. His extensive career in technology and academia provides a unique perspective that enriches the book with clarity, compassion, and a practical approach to spiritual growth.

In summary, "Who Is This God?" is not just a handbook; it's an inspirational journey into the heart of faith. It's thought-provoking, timely, and relevant, providing concrete techniques and tools for spiritual development. This book is a true gift for those seeking a profound, authentic connection with the divine. I highly recommend it to anyone on a journey of spiritual discovery. (by Danielle Patakay)

Excellent book and very educational!

"Who is this God?" is an excellent book for both new Christians and those who have been in the church for most of their life! The stories the author shares from his personal experience are an excellent reminder to always look at your life to see where God might be working, especially when you're not sure God is there.

Wonderful reminders from the Bible are dissected and explained as to the assurance of your faith, and the very real and true character and nature of our Creator, and His Son and our Savior Jesus Christ.

A unique writing style is also very much outside the box, not the typical nature of a novel or textbook, but a conversation style reading. I believe this is an excellent job by the author to have a conversation with his readers while simultaneously motivating the reader to continously have a conversation with God. Along the way in this book, you pause and reflect and compare thoughts and scriptures. You're challenged to personally reflect on your knowledge of God and the book begs the reader to take their faith seriously and remember it daily.

In a world where fewer and fewer care to believe or acknowledge God's existence, this book is a much needed reminder that God always has been, is now, and forever will be in charge of His creation, and open to all who accept His son Jesus. (J. Cissell)

We will print this book in Nigeria to distribute and teach it in seminars and conferences

There are many different narratives of who God is by people who try to define God to suit their brand of Christianity. A holistic definition of God is needed to help us understand who the God of the Bible is. Paul Bryan should be celebrated for coming out with this expository and impactful book that will help global Christians have a paradigm shift from what they believe to the reality of the Christian God.

The biblical subject matter of this book is all-encompassing. In his effort to present to the readers a comprehensive God, Paul Bryan elucidated Him in full - His existence, responsibilities, triune nature, love, supernatural and miraculous nature, missionary command and saving power through Christ, discipleship, and maturity in Christ, etc. The supernatural, including the devil and demons, were not left out in this book. Paul Bryan explains how Christians can detect the devil's schemes, neutralize them, and live a victorious Christian life. The church's health was a concern to the author; he did a great job by giving us the keys to identify a healthy Christian church. Life after death is a component that points the reader to heaven, which should be the priority of every Christian.

The personal application part of this book is spot on as readers are given opportunities to look inwardly, examine the impacts of what they have read on their lives, and apply the knowledge to know God and how to live in His kingdom. The author continues to keep the readers involved by asking pertinent and probing “What Do You Think?” questions throughout each chapter. These will inevitably help readers be part of this book, which is indeed a handbook for life. I noticed that Paul Bryan used the phrase "Our Book". It is clear that this is a book given to us by the Holy Spirit through the author. Those who helped edit the book and its readers are also all stakeholders.

In my quest to ensure that the knowledge in this book is disseminated, I have written to Paul Bryan requesting his permission to print this book in Nigeria to distribute and teach it in seminars and conferences. I am so thankful to Paul Bryan for authorizing us to adopt this book as a handbook for all our missionaries and trainees in Afri-Mission Institute for Missionaries Studies. This is a must read book for everyone who wants to know God holistically and empirically. Who is this God? is an antidote to ignorance about the God of the universe who created heaven and earth. I, therefore, recommend it to every person, irrespective of religion and language. I sincerely pray that Paul Bryan will have the opportunity to translate this book into all the languages of this earth. (Oscar Amaechina, President Afri-Mission Evangelism Network, Abuja, Nigeria)

As informed and informative as it is inspired and inspiring

Synopsis: In the first chapter of "Who Is This God?: A Handbook for Life with Him", author Paul Bryan draws our attention to his impetus in writing the book -- the state of unbelief in God in America today.

Bryan argues that there is a pandemic of infectious unbelief in America and the world today! According to a 2020 survey, ninety-four percent of adult Americans say knowing the God of the Bible is not important. Instead, they have created their own idea of who they want Him to be.

So where have you placed your faith and trust? "Who Is This God?: A Handbook for Life with Him" is firmly rooted in the solid ground of the Bible and God's true nature.

Embedded in the forty-three chapter narratives are nearly three hundred questions, six hundred and sixty scripture quotations, and seventy true stories. These stories include miracles of healing, deliverance, and protection only the God of the Bible can do. You will also see that God communicates through His Spirit with those who sincerely seek Him.

Critique: As informed and informative as it is inspired and inspiring, "Who Is This God?: A Handbook for Life with Him" is an especially and unreservedly recommended pick for clergy, seminary students, and all members of the Christian community regardless of their denominational affiliations. It should be noted for personal reading lists and Biblical Studies curriculums that "Who Is This God?: A Handbook for Life with Him" is also readily available in a digital book format (Kindle, $9.99).

Editorial Note: Paul Bryan 's passion has been to know and serve the God of the Bible since he committed his life to Jesus Christ in 1976. He has served in leadership and teaching roles with various churches during this time. Although he was involved in many ministries, he feels his most important contributions to the Christian faith have been teaching adults to know the Bible and the God of the Bible as He truly exists. He spent his professional career in technology, mainly in management, working for multiple large organizations, including General Motors, Electronic Data Systems, and AT&T. He worked for cru (a Christian non-profit organization) in their technology department for five years, building and managing a technology project management office. He taught business courses at Southern Oregon University and the University of Central Florida for several years. He has a bachelor's degree in psychology and an MBA. Paul and his wife, Linda, live in southern Indiana. (Midwest Book Review)
